SUPPORT PRECEDES MOVEMENT
Attention Connects Us
The space holds the information.
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
Consciousness and awareness are each nebulous concepts in their own rights. How do we know what we know?
Through balancing movement and stillness, we physicalize, realize, and actualize reality, building attentional structures that support the movement of vital energy through our organism and communities--from the cellular to the transpersonal.
All of the projects and practices on this site, which are nurtured by the various teams and partners with whom I work, or by me alone, serve and are served by a vital energy, and a desire to share attention, the life-blood of transformational process, whether personal or collective.
I investigate processes that orient us toward growth. (toward) How change can be a friend and not a foe.
Through studying a variety of fields including psychology, theater and dance, somatics, and "movement", I learned to look at the processes which support or effect choice-making moment by moment. I'm fascinated by the intimate relationship between movement and posture.
Support precedes movement. Sometimes stuckness is a byproduct of looking for support in the wrong places, or pushing it away when we meant to reach for it. I offer both private somatic education sessions and customized programming. While verbal and non-verbal feedback, suggestions, and guidance are essential for supporting movement development, listening and having the space to grow are keys to the evolution of an individual's awareness.
The hands on facilitation process is all about play. We use toys, instruments, balls, and each other to unlock reserves of energy and free our perception for having fun.
